Manchester

Walk Run Cycle

Manchester is usually known for its football legends. However, it was also the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution and thanks to its cotton mills, it earned the nickname”Cottonopolis.” Musically, Manchester has produced bands like The Smiths, Oasis, and Joy Division. Not only do the people carry stories, but the architecture holds fascinating tales, such as the Neo-Gothic Town Hall and modern arts hub of The Lowry. Manchester also has a placeholder in the science and innovation realm thanks to the likes of Ernest Rutherford, who was the first person to split an atom and Alan Turing, who developed a reputation as a computer science genius.

Our routes give you a taste and peek into what makes Manchester so unique. Visit fascinating museums and galleries, historical libraries, and enchanting parks and woods. Find the hiding spots of Manchester’s trademarked worker bee and why this is so. Spend quality time with the family as you walk through the city centre or along Manchester’s rivers. Although we highlight some interesting sites for you along the way, we leave the exploration up to you; if anything catches your eye, feel free to have a look. We are constantly working behind the scenes to bring you more routes, so check back frequently!
