Summer in Southside July 2019
We were lucky enough to be walking through the Arcadian Centre this weekend (featured in our Birmingham City Centre walk) when we came across all sorts of performances from roving Martians to an orchestra playing sci-fi themed music! This was Summer in Southside, a free annual festival organised by The Birmingham Hippodrome.
This year it was celebrating 50 years since the first moon landings, with the streets of Southside around the theatre transformed into a lunar landscape for a whole weekend packed with performances, installations and extra-terrestrial antics from a list of ‘out of this world’ acts. We’ve collated a little video of highlights including Highly Sprung- Urban Astronaut, Motionhouse – Gravity, Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and Luke Jerram’s Museum of the Moon.
